15/08/2010

With only two more weeks left to go of the current season, Aston CC 1st XI currently sit in fourth position. This weekend saw Aston travel to sixth place Walmley 3/4, needing maximum points to keep up the pressure on third place Dunlop Coventry. With only two games surviving the rain this weekend, including Aston v Walmley 3/4, Aston had the chance to egde past Dunlop Coventry into third place. Aston posted 188 runs on the board for 7 wickets, but the game ended in a draw with Walmley 3/4 getting 158 runs for 9 wickets. That leaves Aston only 22 points behind Dunlop Coventry, as their game with Stockingford was abandoned. However, close behind Aston are Stockingford and Walmley 3/4, with not many points to seperate the three teams.

Next weekend Aston are at home to Stockingford, an important game giving Aston the chance not only to create some distance between themselves and Stockingford but also to narrow Dunlop Coventry's lead.

Written by Matt Kendall
Thursday, 05 August 2010 21:37

Aston CC Under 9s had another successful night on Tuesday at Aston Manor.  Beating Walmley B and Four Oaks, but controversially losing to local rivals Aston Manor.  Everyone enjoyed the night, and the boys put in a great performance again, really showing what they have learned over the course of the season.

Team:  Ibi, Inzi, Yusuf, Ikhlas, Osama, Husnain, Umar C, Avais
